Description

A tender, flavorful brisket recipe perfect for family gatherings or special celebrations, evoking rich barbecue traditions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 56 pounds beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket and let it sit for a while.
  4. Place the brisket in the smoker fat side up and smoke for 10-12 hours until it reaches 195°F (90°C).
  5. Spritz the brisket every hour with a mixture of beef broth and apple cider vinegar.
  6. Once cooked, let the brisket rest for 30 minutes before slicing against the grain.

Notes

Resting is key to keeping the brisket juicy. You can customize the spritz mixture for added flavor.
