Description

A delicious and easy-to-make pizza with a crispy crust made in a cast iron skillet, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Toppings of your choice (pepperoni, vegetables, etc.)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water, mixing until a cohesive dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  2. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  3. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  4. After the dough has risen, punch it down and stretch it to fit your cast iron skillet.
  5. Drizzle olive oil into the skillet and place the dough inside, pushing it to the edges. Spread pizza sauce over the dough, sprinkle mozzarella cheese, and add your favorite toppings.
  6. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, slice and serve.

Notes

For an extra crispy crust, preheat the skillet before adding the dough. You can customize toppings as desired.
