A delicious and easy-to-make pizza with a crispy crust made in a cast iron skillet, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Toppings of your choice (pepperoni, vegetables, etc.)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water, mixing until a cohesive dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and stretch it to fit your cast iron skillet.
- Drizzle olive oil into the skillet and place the dough inside, pushing it to the edges. Spread pizza sauce over the dough, sprinkle mozzarella cheese, and add your favorite toppings.
- Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, slice and serve.
Notes
For an extra crispy crust, preheat the skillet before adding the dough. You can customize toppings as desired.
