Description

Delightful and crumbly shortbread cookie bars perfect for an afternoon tea or late-night snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually blend in the flour and salt until just combined.
  4. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  6. Allow the bars to cool in the pan before slicing into even bars.
