Description

Perfectly fluffy and fragrant basmati rice cooked effortlessly in an Instant Pot, ready to accompany any dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  2. Add the rinsed rice, water, olive oil, and salt into the Instant Pot. Stir well to combine.
  3. Close the lid of the Instant Pot and set the valve to sealing.
  4. Set the Instant Pot to manual high pressure for 6 minutes.
  5. Once cooking is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then perform a quick release for remaining pressure.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving to separate the grains.

Notes

Serve hot and consider garnishing with chopped herbs. For a rich flavor, swap olive oil for ghee, and this recipe is naturally gluten-free.
