- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Powdered sugar for glazing (optional)
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast: In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
- Combine the Mixtures: Add melted butter, egg, honey, and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Let the Dough Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll Out the Dough: Once risen, roll out the dough, spread melted butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
- Roll and Cut: Roll tightly and cut into pieces.
- Second Rise: Place pieces in a greased baking pan and let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake the Buns: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Glaze and Serve: Drizzle with powdered sugar glaze before serving if desired.
