Description

A refreshing homemade drink that combines the zing of fresh ginger with the bright burst of lemon flavor, perfect for hot days.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Ice
  • Lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the water and grated ginger. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  2. Strain the ginger water into a pitcher.
  3. Add the lemon juice and sugar to the ginger water. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Put the mixture in the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Pour over ice and garnish with lemon slices. Enjoy!

Notes

For a low-sugar option, use stevia or another sugar alternative. You can also customize the flavor with fresh cucumber or mint.
