- 1 pound ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground meat for 5-7 minutes.
- Add the chopped onion and diced carrots, cooking until softened, about 4-5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce, letting it simmer for about 5 minutes, then add the frozen peas and season with salt and pepper.
- Boil the peeled and chopped potatoes in salted water until tender, around 15-20 minutes.
- Drain potatoes, mash with garlic, milk, and butter until smooth, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish, spreading mashed potatoes on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes
