Description
A deliciously easy sweet and salty treat combining crispy popcorn, rich chocolate, and creamy peanut butter, perfect for movie nights or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup sugar (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Start by popping your popcorn kernels using an air popper or on the stovetop. Pour the popped popcorn into a large bowl, ensuring to remove any unpopped kernels.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and creamy peanut butter. Microwave for about 30 seconds and stir until smooth. If not fully melted, continue heating in short intervals.
- If desired, mix in sugar and vanilla extract to the chocolate-peanut butter mixture for added sweetness.
- Pour the chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the popped popcorn and gently stir to coat every piece.
- Spread the coated popcorn onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
- Allow the popcorn to cool and harden for about 15 minutes before breaking it into pieces and serving.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For a nut-free option, substitute peanut butter with almond or sunflower seed butter.
