Description

A vibrant mix of tender chicken marinated in a creamy, spiced sauce that warms the soul.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cubed
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, paprika, turmeric, and salt. Add the cubed chicken and mix well. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the marinated chicken to the pan, cooking until it’s browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Add the can of diced tomatoes to the pan and let it simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and simmer for an additional 10 minutes to create a luscious, creamy sauce.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving. Enjoy your Authentic Chicken Tikka Masala with fluffy rice or warm naan!

Notes

For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate overnight. Serve it hot with basmati rice and cucumber raita.
