Description

A zesty and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken, lemon, and capers, perfect for both weeknight dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup capers
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Dredge the seasoned chicken breasts in flour, shaking off any excess.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add the lemon juice, chicken broth, and capers to the same skillet. Bring to a boil, scraping up browned bits from the skillet.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, until cooked through.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute with gluten-free flour. Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
