- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and brown the chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes on each side.
- In a baking dish, spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom.
- Place the browned chicken breasts on top of the marinara sauce and pour the remaining marinara over the chicken.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top, followed by breadcrumbs.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For added nutrition, consider layering some sliced zucchini or spinach. This dish can be made gluten-free with suitable breadcrumbs.
