- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into 1/4 inch rounds.
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat; stir in brown sugar, water, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until sugar dissolves.
- Gently stir in the sweet potatoes to coat them in the syrup.
- Transfer to a baking dish and bake for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from the oven and stir in vanilla extract before serving.
