- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Stir occasionally until it starts to turn golden brown and releases a nutty aroma.
- Once the butter is browned, add the mini marshmallows and salt. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Remove the pot from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the Rice Krispies cereal into the marshmallow mixture. Stir well until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan and press evenly into the pan.
- Allow the treats to cool completely before cutting them into squares.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the melted butter. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
