Description

Warm, buttery biscuits loaded with cheddar cheese and garlic, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
  3. Cut the cold, cubed butter into the dry mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour in the milk and mix until just combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
  8. While the biscuits are baking, mix the melted butter with the remaining garlic powder and chopped parsley.
  9. Once the biscuits are out of the oven, brush them with the garlic butter topping. Serve warm.

Notes

For added heat, increase the cayenne pepper or add chopped jalapeños. These biscuits can be made gluten-free with a proper flour blend.
