Description

Delightful candied sweet potatoes that bring warmth to any meal, perfect for holidays or family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 large sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into 1/4 inch rounds.
  3. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat; stir in brown sugar, water, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until sugar dissolves.
  4. Gently stir in the sweet potatoes to coat them in the syrup.
  5. Transfer to a baking dish and bake for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from the oven and stir in vanilla extract before serving.

Notes
