Description

A hearty meatball casserole bursting with flavors, featuring homemade meatballs, rich marinara sauce, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked pasta or rice (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into bite-sized meatballs.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly in a baking dish.
  6. Arrange the browned meatballs over the marinara sauce.
  7. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the meatballs and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving hot over cooked pasta or rice, if desired.

Notes

For a healthier twist, use ground turkey or chicken. You can also add different cheeses or use lentils for a vegetarian option.
